This is a beautiful hike that goes from Sde Boker through Nachal Tzin, till it reaches the nature reserve of Ein Avdat. This is a moderate hike that is mostly level walking, and with a real treasure at the end – the water spring of Ein Avdat. Archaeological evidence shows that Ein Avdat was inhabited at different times by Nabateans and Catholic monks. Numerous springs at the southern opening of the canyon feed deep pools in a series of waterfalls. The water emerges from the rock layers with salt-loving plants like Poplar trees and Artiplexes growing nearby.
