A walking tour in the mountains of Jerusalem - including amazing views, an ancient fortress, burial caves, and a charming and impressive stalactite cave!This is a lovely trip suitable for the whole family (small children in a carrier) which is approx. 9 km long (5.5 miles) -long version and approx 3 km (1.8 miles) shorter version.The route takes us through fruit orchards to an ancient and abandoned village called "Bayt Itab" which has an ancient and impressive Crusader fortress at the top of the mountain. After exploring the ruins and a short rest, we will follow Nachal Hame'arot ( a beautiful stream) where we hike until reaching the Twins' Cave. Twin's Cave is an impressive stalactite cave (closed in the winter months from 1/11 to 1/3) that we can enter and our guide will tell us stories and legends about the origin of the cave's name. With the use of headlamps (we will lend them to you and they are included in the cost of the trip) to see the impressive formations of the stalagmites and stalactites. We will continue into the depths of the cave for a few more minutes until we reach our endpoint.The shorter trip is divided into two parts: 1) a circular route that is approx 3 km long, and part 2), after finishing the walking route, we will travel with our vehicles to visit the Twin's Cave.Suitable for the whole familyEstimated time 2-6 hours
