Nahal Chalamish is a stream that descends moderately from the Arad area to the Dead Sea. In the Wadi channel, there are three waterfalls ranging from 10 to 40 meters high that are perfect for a 'canyoning' experience. 'Canyoning' means hiking through a trail through the Nahal/Wadi channel and then rappelling down dry waterfalls (this is located in the desert). On this type of trip, rappelling is a significant part, therefore, it cannot be skipped. However, it is the best experience and a lot of fun! We begin our adventure by walking along a jeep trail that leads us into the desert, and away from civilization. After about 20 minutes, we reach the Wadi channel, and from there, we part from the marked path and begin to enjoy the wild beauty of Nahal Chalamish. We will walk for another few minutes until we reach the first waterfall and the first of three rappels in this impressive canyon. This fantastic experience is perfect for a day trip or even a night trip for those who want a bit of a challenge! Walking through this canyon while being encompassed by the primeval landscape of the Judean Desert combines both fun and challenges that can be enjoyed for hours! This is the perfect site for anyone seeking a real desert rappelling experience. Estimated Time: 4 - 6 hours
