Take a beautiful panoramic hike from Mount Gamal (Camel Mountain) on the trail that overlooks the Ramon Crater. You will have views from the north to the south, and from the west to the east - the crater in its entirety! This lovely hike is suitable for all ages, and will bring us right up to our next adventure - rappelling in the crater! The Ramon Crater in Israel’s Negev Desert is the world’s largest erosion crater or makhtesh. A landform unique to Israel’s Negev and Egypt’s Sinai deserts, a makhtesh is a large erosion cirque, created eons ago when oceans covered the area. The Ramon Crater measures 40 km in length and between 2 and 1 0km in width, shaped like a long heart (the heart of the Negev!), and forms Israel’s largest national park, the Ramon Nature Reserve. At the edge of the crater, just in front of the visitor's center, in Mitzpe Ramon, we will have an exhilarating rappelling adventure - no experience necessary! Your private guide will lead you step by step through this thrilling experience. You can choose to do this multiple times. There is a short trail that leads you from the bottom of the cliff back to the top. Challenge yourself and you will reap the rewards forever!Estimated Time: 3 Hours
