This is a half-day hike in the Yehudiya Nature Reserve through a gorgeous volcanic canyon in the Golan Mountains along a marked trail that passes along the beautiful mountains all the way to the canyon valley with spectacular scenery all around. We pass huge waterfalls, including one that lands in a big pool, and many smaller cascades, perfect for a refreshing swim. We are going to hike through the water, the water will go up to our knees and hips. When we reach the huge Yohdia waterfall we will climb down to the big pool at the bottom by using steps. We can swim and enjoy the big pools and waterfalls. Then we will climb back up the waterfall all the way to where we started. It is easy and fun with lots of nature and ancient history of the surrounding old Talmudic villages. A perfect summer hike with refreshing water. Accessible to all good hikers. There is no rappelling or other rope activities in this hike. Along the way you will see animals, fish, and birds - sometimes even eagles! This hike is considered one of Israel’s most exciting hikes. It is very similar to the Black Canyon hike, but is not as difficult.Estimated time: 3-4 hours.
